Netball
The aim of the event is to provide an enjoyable experience for all participants.
- 6v6 format for Year 5-6
- 7v7 format for Year 7-8
- In each year category there is Boys, Girls and Mixed Grade
The CM Games is committed to ensuring the values of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga are upheld at all times. It is an expectation all participants will show respect for one another, respect for the rules of the game and respect for the kaupapa of our event.
Sport-related queries and/or concerns relating to each sport are made to the individual sport's Technical Commissioner. Only the coach/school representative may approach the Technical Commissioner. The Technical Commissioner’s decision is final.

6v6 Rules (Year 5-6)
- THE COURT: Full Court
- GOALPOSTS: 3.05 mtr
- BALL: Size 5 Netball
- BIBS: 2x A, 2x C, 2x D
- Two umpires
- Six players per team on court at any one time
- Teams should not exceed ten players
- A game consists of 2 halves, each of 9 minutes duration
- The half time interval shall be 1 minute
- Teams change ends at half-time
- Both teams have the right to make rolling substitutions and/or team changes, at any stage of the game, with the players meeting at the side line
- There is no limit to the number of substitutions which can be made by a team
- A Centre from each team will use Paper, Scissors, Rock to determine who will start with the ball at the start of the game
- The Centre in possession of the ball stands with at least one foot wholly within the centre circle
- The other Centre stands on the sideline in the Centre Third with the opposing teams other Centre
- Once the centre pass has been received, these players can enter play
- After a goal is scored, play restarts with a centre pass by the non-scoring team
- Apply the footwork rule
- Players may not reground the first grounded foot
- A goal may only be scored by the A’s
- Players take turns e.g. if it is the defence thrown in in the goal third, one defender throws in and then the other defender takes the next throw in
- Players must be at least 0.9 metre away
- A player may not push, trip, knock, bump or hold an opponent, either deliberately or accidentally

7v7 Rules (Year 7-8)
- THE COURT: Full Court
- GOALPOSTS: 3.05 mtr
- BALL: Size 5 Netball
- BIBS: GK, GD, WD, C, WA, GA, GS
- Two umpires
- Seven players per team on court at any one time
- Teams should not exceed ten players
- A game consists of 2 halves each of 9 minutes duration
- The half-time interval shall be 1 minute
- Teams change ends at half time
- Both teams have the right to make rolling substitutions and/or team changes, at any stage of the game, with the players meeting at the side line and high fiving
- There is no limit to the number of substitutions which can be made by a team
- Players must pass or shoot within 3 seconds
- Apply the footwork rule
- Players may not reground the first grounded foot
- Players must be at least 0.9 metres away
- A player may not push, trip, knock, bump or hold an opponent, either deliberately or accidentally
