Auckland Football Federation Rules
Football 7v7
The aim of the event is to provide an enjoyable experience for all participants.
- Teams will consist of 7 players (6 outfield & a goalkeeper) on the field at one time
- Squad maximum of 12 players
- Each game is two 9-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime changeover (20-minute rounds)
- Continuous clock and no injury time
The CM Games is committed to ensuring the values of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga are upheld at all times. It is an expectation all participants will show respect for one another, respect for the rules of the game and respect for the kaupapa of our event.
Sport-related queries and/or concerns relating to each sport are made to the individual sport's Technical Commissioner. Only the coach/school representative may approach the Technical Commissioner. The Technical Commissioner’s decision is final.

Rules
- Children will play in sand shoes, boots or trainers – NO BARE FEET/ NO METAL SPRIGS
- Goalkeepers may wear gloves
- Teams will flip a coin to determine sides
- Game started and finished by referee whistle/hooter/bell
- Throw-ins will be performed with 2 hands on the ball and the ball put behind the head
- Corner kicks will occur if anybody from the defending team puts the ball out over the back line
- Goal kicks will occur if the attacking team puts the ball out over the back line
- Goal kicks will be performed with the ball placed on the ground in the corner of the 6-yard box
- Goalkeepers must roll the ball out of hand or kick the ball from the ground – NO PUNTING
- A free kick will be given if the ball is touched by the hands of the goalie outside of the box
- Handballs will be penalised at the referee’s discretion – normally when someone purposefully handles the ball
- No offside
- Free kicks will be awarded for illegal obstructions such as:
- Handball
- Late and dangerous tackles
- Backchat and swearing
- Penalties will be awarded for obstruction or handling by the defending team of the ball in the goal box area
- Penalties taken on the penalty spot as marked on the field
- Please remind players that foul language and bad behaviour will not be tolerated
- Roll on roll off substitutions from the halfway line designated area (marked by cones)
- Substitutions can only be made when the ball is out of play
